Brad Dotson's 500 Character Meme

Well, folks, this here is the big one. I mean, REALLY BIG. 500 of my all-time favorite characters from throughout film, television, literature, video games, popular culture, and the like! Five-hundred characters that have had an impact on my life in one way or another since my early years all the way up to now! I have a lot to owe these guys and gals and everything they've done to entertain, enlighten, and entrance me.

Now, before anyone asks, yes, these were all hand-drawn by me without tracing or copying or the like at all! I take great pride in being able to draw free hand from reference (which I used A LOT of to make this picture). I would also like to state that just because I like a character from a series doesn't necessarily mean I enjoy the series as a whole. You will notice some characters from anime and manga on here. Most anime I do not like at all in general, but I do like at least one character from said anime/manga. Everyone's entitled to their own opinions, though, and what I like may not be what everyone else likes, and I respect that. This also is not merely some random collection of various characters, so don't ask me why a certain someone or other isn't or didn't make it on here. I've taken great and valuable time to figure out who belongs in this collection of my favorites and why they are here, which will all be explained below =) Also enclosed with each character is a link to a page for more information or a video showcasing what it is about said character that I love so much!

I was highly influenced by :iconthemrock:'s Character Meme, which you should totally take a glimpse at. Its phenomenal. Anywho, I have the characters categorized in ten different categories based on certain aspects of my personal likes and personality: Superheroes, Disney Characters, Classic and Obscure Characters, Pixar and CGI Characters, Video Game Characters, Childhood Characters, Crazy Current Cable Cartoon Characters, Action-Adventure Characters, Villains, and Adult Characters! I hope you all find someone in here who you know and love, and maybe learn about some characters you've never even heard of before! Enjoy! =3

Disney Characters
As an aspiring animator/cartoonist and as the twin brother of an autistic sister who absolutely loves Disney, I've been highly influenced by the animated anthology of Walt Disney's vast collection. They're the best! From good ol' Mickey Mouse to the upcoming Wreck-It Ralph, the higher-ups at Disney continue to awe and wow me with their storytelling, animation prowess, music, and just all-around awesomeness. Sure, Disney's strayed from their original path since they started spewing out stupid kids shows with Hannah Montana, the Jonas Brothers, and other vomit-inducing crap. But, that's not the real Disney. The real Disney is the animated one. And so, here's my top fifty favorite characters from nearly every movie in the official Disney animated canon.

Classic Characters
Animation and comics and cartoons have had a vast impact on me from my youngest days. From Sunday comic strips, to cartoons on television, to the works of Miyazaki (one of the only truly awesome form of animation that I have no qualms with watching, imo, from Japan), to the abstract, different forms of animation (stop-motion, cutout, etc.), to the obscure, these characters are classics, famous or otherwise, and have influenced me just as much as any Disney character or superhero.

Pixar and CGI Characters
People have apparently grown tired of CGI (computer-generated imagery)-animation. I say, bull****. It's the next big thing. Deal with it. And if you don't like stuff like Shark Tale (which is understandable, because that sucks big floppy donkey dick), that's fine. Watch Pixar. It'll change a man/woman. Pixar is the best. 'Nuff said. I've never seen a finer animation studio that's dedicated to creating really awesome work. Not stuff spewing with pop culture references or fart jokes or stuff like that. They show that computer animation can be just as much a work of art as well as any other form of animation.

Adult Characters
Well, as much as I hate to say it, all good things must come to an end and as I transitioned from the early years of childhood and elementary school and entered middle and high school, I realized I had a lot of growing up to do. I was very hesitant to watch more adult material, as I was not used to it. Hell, I didn't even want to curse until I gave up and started doing it in high school! And I still don't want to drink or smoke, and I'm legal enough to do it now! But, now I'm an amalgamation of childhood wonderment and adult vulgarity, and have come to appreciate more…… mature tastes. I like watching Adult Swim and Comedy Central more now, and I also watch more mature comedic stuff!

I see Thomas, my favorite childhood character I ever loved, and WALL-E and EVE, my favorite, favorite Disney characters of all time.
